Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what happens to it afterwards. It is written to meet our obligations under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Who we are

This website is operated by IT Tech Expert, of 29 Azalea Road, Vredekloof Heights, Brackenfell, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. Our website address is https://ittechexpert.co.za.

For the purposes of POPIA we are the responsible party for the information described below.

What we collect

Through the enquiry form

When you complete the enquiry form on this site, we receive:

• your name
• your contact number
• your email address
• the message you write to us
• whether you asked to be kept updated by email
• the page address you submitted the form from

Through live chat

This site uses a live chat widget provided by tawk.to. If you start a chat, tawk.to processes the conversation and anything you type into it on our behalf. Their policy is at tawk.to/privacy-policy.

What we do not collect

This website has no visitor accounts, no comments and no visitor logins. We do not run advertising trackers on it, and we do not build marketing profiles from your visit.

Why we collect it

To answer your enquiry, to quote for work, and to carry out any work you go on to ask us for. If you tick the optional box asking to be kept updated, we may also send you occasional emails about our services — and you can stop those at any time by telling us.

Ticking that box is optional. Leaving it unticked does not affect your enquiry in any way.

Who processes it

Two service providers handle enquiry information on our behalf, and only to deliver their service to us:

• Web3Forms — delivers your form submission to our support mailbox. web3forms.com/privacy
• BoldDesk — our helpdesk, where your enquiry becomes a support ticket so it can be tracked through to completion. bolddesk.com/privacy-policy

Our email is hosted with Microsoft 365. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else except where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Support tickets and the correspondence attached to them are kept for as long as we are working with you, and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that we have a history of work done on your systems if you come back to us. Records connected to invoicing are kept for the period required by South African tax and company law.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong or out of date
• delete information we no longer have a reason to keep
• stop sending you updates you previously agreed to

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

Keeping it secure

This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to our helpdesk and email systems is restricted to IT Tech Expert staff who need it to do their work.

Information officer

For the purposes of POPIA, the information officer is the head of the organisation. Any request or query about your personal information should be sent to office@ittechexpert.co.za or phoned through on 021 007 5190, and it will be directed to them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this site handles personal information, we will update this page. This version was published on 7 August 2026.
